What I do

All sorts of things Software and Data related where naive solutions or standard tools are not cutting it.

Currently, that is mostly advanced document processing in the context of Retrieval Augmented Generation - in short: Providing a Chatbot or other AI related tool with your internal knowledge.

This can include custom retrieval logic, building MCP tools with proper authentication, creating a vector database with custom schema and much more.

My experience in the field starting 2021 showed me, that a "Test Driven Development" inspired approach is key to effectively set expecations with stakeholders and measure progress as objectively possible.

Selected projects

• Ask Your Policy Chatbot - A Chatbot based on around 1000 documents (mainly pdfs and docx) with tricky structure where we had to develop a custom docx parser and mingle with the pdfs as well.
• Credit Risk Report Automation - Creating an automatized Report for companies based on their balance sheet data (structured) and their annual report (pdf). The report was then signed off or edited by experts (human in the loop). Key aspect: For each information in the report links are attached to the text snippet that from the annual report it was based on. This achieved an 80% reduction in expert time per report.
